Project turn around time is anywhere between 2 and 6 weeks for straightforward projects, and up to 6+ months for full-stack deployment. The number 1 impact our projects have on turn around time is client communication- for example, did the client deliver the requested content on time?
We try to keep in fast communication with our clients, and we ask our clients to make that same commitment for keeping project schedules intact.
The more prepared you are to begin the project, the more smoothly it goes. Depending on the project, it may not be possible to have everything ready on day 1, but any preparation that you have at the ready will be appreciated.
If you are creating your content, our service agreement will dictate content delivery windows. We nee these content delivery windows followed as closely as possible in order to assure on-time delivery of your website.
If we are writing your content for you, then we require a minimum of 1-hour of your time to discuss your business industry, your products, and your services in detail. These meetings will help us to create useful content for your website, so we do ask that you come prepared with any sort of supplemental materials that you think would be helpful for us to understand your business.
Website content is created in 3 ways.
- You can create all of your own website content, with some direction from us based on your web design. We'll tell you what headlines we need, how many paragraphs you'll need, and on what topic, as well as our image requirements.
- We will create the content for you, but with your input. You supply us with the information, and we'll convert your words to copywriting that will suit your target industry.
Delivery of site content in a timely manner is important to make sure your site is delivered on time.
No. A lot of our clients come to us with re-design projects and already have web hosting, but we prefer to set up your hosting for you so that we can use a hosting solution that will better serve your needs.
No. We will be happy to help you find the right domain name and get it registered for you.
Money & Ownership
Websites come in all different shapes, sizes, and with different functionality. The price of your website is affected by two things: labor costs + the cost of licensing for any third-party elements- such as specialized software and stock photography.
Our websites start as low as $350 for a basic one-page landing site up to as large a budget as a project requires. For most small-mid-sized businesses we try to keep prices under $3500.
With some details about your project, we offer a free quote within 48 hours of submitting a request.
We offer 2 basic ways to pay:
- 100% upfront
- 50% upfront and 50% within 7 days of launch
For smaller businesses, we offer special payment arrangements to help align your immediate needs with your cash flow. To talk about special payment plans, send us an email and tell us what you need and what your monthly operations budget is and we'll help get you set up if there is a reasonable arrangement to be made.
For most projects, we don't burden anyone with themes or platforms that require recurring costs, but some third-party solutions may require an annual licensing fee.
That being said, websites need to be managed and maintained so we offer web care and maintenance plan that carries a monthly cost based on what services you are wanting to invest in.
Currently, we bill through Intuit Payment Processors so your payment is always handled securely and kept safe.
We take all major credit cards, debit cards, ACH, and Apple Pay.
At the end of the day, your website belongs to you.
If we're hosting your website on our servers, you are free to migrate your website anytime you wish, make changes to the page content, or otherwise, redesign your site as you wish.
If you have a care and maintenance plan with us, we do lock the design elements, so as to prevent breaking site designs, but these locks are easily removed if you take over website maintenance or outsource away from us.
Web content that we create for you is open to a limited-use license. Any usage outside of your website needs to be approved and relicensed by us. (Typically, we are willing to extend licensing to print and social media campaigns, but we only ask to be informed about how graphics are used.)
Limited use licensing applies to any stock photography that we purchase for you as well. Third-party licensing is very specific, so unless otherwise stated, assume that all the images on your website are limited to website usage.
We offer two options for meeting sessions, virtual and face-to-face.
Virtual meetings occur on the streaming meeting venue of your choice, Skype, Zoom, Uber Conference, Webex, etc, etc... And these meetings are hosted anytime during normal business hours (M-F 9 am to 6 pm central) and under special circumstances after hours or on Saturdays.
Face to Face meetings require 7 days' notice and can occur just about anywhere. We prefer these meetings to happen between 9 & 11 am or 1 & 4 pm (central).
This is variable by circumstance, but we guarantee e-mail return within 48 hours. However, if it is very rare that it takes us more than 12 hours to return a received e-mail.
Phone calls are answered as they come, but if you do get sent to voicemail then leave a message and we will get back to you within 6 hours.
Typically, we don't see a lot of emergency calls in this business. Server's have been known to crash, but we run uptime robots on our servers so it is unlikely you'll notice a site crash before we do.
However, if you find yourself in a distressing situation, then you can leave a voicemail or send a text message to our phone number- state the emergency and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Support & Maintenance
Yes. For the first 30 days after launch, we enroll all of our products under a web care plan. This allows us to monitor all of our code under traffic and make adjustments as necessary.
After 30 days, and without continuing on a care plan, we no longer offer free support.
For basic use questions and general advice, we absolutely offer free support.
For coding and more advanced use scenarios, we offer consulting sessions where we will sit down and run through use and questions. However, these sessions usually carry a consulting fee starting at $125 for an hour and a half.
We do not offer a money-back guarantee.
Instead, to guarantee your satisfaction with our work we have a "make it right" policy. If you're unhappy with your design or content then we will make any reasonable action to adjust the design to your taste.
If you want to cancel your project after agreement signing, we have generous cancellation terms.
We also have a no-obligation policy in regards to our web care and maintenance plans.
Design & Development
Ideally, we do not use pre-made templates for our websites. We prefer to build our websites from the ground up. However, some design patterns are universal because they work, but the use of a pattern is not the same as a template.
However, for some of our limited-budget clients, we may employ a template in order to focus the project budget on content creation over custom coding and development.
This will vary from project to project, but our preference is to start with a clean slate.
Yes, all of our designs are built to be fully responsive.
This varies from project to project and is usually dictated through our service agreement. The budget has a direct correlation with the number of revisions you get.
Typically, we offer unlimited written content changes up until launch day. But we limit design revisions due to the effect that extensive revisions can have on your project budget.
